- bend the petals of the locking plates, unscrew the caliper mounting bolts and, moving it to the side, fix the caliper so that it does not hang on the hoses;
- remove the front wheel hub cap with a puller 67.7801.9514 or a screwdriver;
- unscrew the adjusting nut of the hub bearings, remove the washer and remove the hub assembly with the bearings, the oil seal and the brake disc, and then the inner ring of the inner bearing from the steering knuckle with a puller А.40005/1/9В.
Further disassembly is carried out after removing the suspension unit from the vehicle, fixing it on a workbench and proceeding in the following order:
- unscrew all nuts 2 (pic. 107), remove the locking plates and the steering knuckle arm; at the same time, the bracket 3 for fastening the caliper and the protective cover 1 for the brake disc are released;
- unscrew the nut of the upper hinge pin, install the puller 67.7801.9513 (pic. 108) between the fingers of the ball joints and, wrapping the bolt 3 of the puller, press out the finger 2 of the upper hinge from the steering knuckle 1 (pic. 109);
- unscrew the nut of the lower hinge pin and install the same puller between the hinge pins and stop 2 (pic. 110) or A.47042 with spacer sleeve; tightening the screw 3 of the puller, press out the pin 1 and remove the lower lever from the knuckle.
The assembly of the front suspension units is carried out in the reverse order. Wherein:
- front wheel hub bearings are lubricated with Litol-24 grease, as indicated in Sec. "Replacing grease in front wheel bearings";
- nuts and bolts for fastening the suspension units and parts are tightened to the torques specified in adj. 1;
- after assembling the suspension and installing it on the car, suspension elements "crimp", having made a run of 15-20 km, after which they check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles.
