Checking the technical condition of the rear suspension

The elastic characteristic of the springs is checked according to the data below, having previously compressed them three times until the coils touch:

Free spring length, mm — 434 and 455*

Spring length under load 295±13 and (325±13) * kgf, mm:

• group A (yellow marking), no more — 273
• group A (light brown marking) * — more than 278
• group B (green marking) , no more — 273
• group B (blue marking) * no more - 278

* For VAZ-2102 rear suspension springs.

Check if there is any deformation of the spring. If the elasticity of the spring is not correct or it is deformed, it is replaced.

Inspect rubber pads and replace if necessary.

Check the condition of the rods and their elastic hinges. In case of deformation, the rods are corrected, and if it is impossible, they are replaced. If it is necessary to replace the hinges, use the tool kit 67.7820.9517.
