Sidelights

On VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102 cars, sidelights of the PF-140 type are installed, and on a VAZ-2103 car - of the PF-145 type. Sidelights are attached to the ■ front of the car and are enclosed in rubber covers from the inside of the car to protect against water and dirt.


The sidelight PF-140 has a colorless transparent plastic diffuser 2 attached to the body 1 with two screws 9. A rubber gasket 3 is installed between the diffuser and the body. The body is cast from a zinc alloy and has openings for ventilation of the sidelight chamber. Studs 8 for fastening the sidelight are cast in the housing. A cartridge 5 with a plastic holder of 7 contacts is fixed in the housing. A double-filament lamp A12-21 + 5 is installed in the cartridge; a 21 W thread is used to indicate the turn, and a 5 W thread is used for side light.

At the sidelight PF-145, the body is divided by a partition into two chambers. In the larger chamber, a single-filament lamp A12-21-3 for indicating the turn is installed, and in the smaller chamber - A12-5 for the side light. Diffuser 2 - two-color plastic. Steel chrome-plated reflectors 11 are riveted inside the body. The sidelight is attached to the car with two bolts 13. Screws 9 for fastening the diffuser are screwed into the heads of these bolts.

Sidelights are divided into right and left (an index is added to the sidelight type designation «P» or «L»). They differ in installation dimensions, and the PF-145 sidelights also differ in the location of the cameras, since the direction indicator camera must always be located on the outside of the car.

Side direction indicators

On VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102 vehicles, side direction indicators of the UP-140 type are installed, and on the VAZ-2103 - of the UP-145 type. They are attached to the front fenders of the car with two screws 16. The pointers use the A12-4 lamp.


The direction indicator UP-140 has an orange plastic diffuser attached to the base with a rim 14. The base consists of a steel plate and a cylindrical shell of the lamp holder stamped to it, into which the cartridge 5 with lamp 17 and plastic holder 7 can be inserted and removed. On the cylindrical part of the base a rubber ring is put on.

The direction indicator UP-145 has a cast metal case 1, in which a cartridge 5 with a holder 7 is fixed. The plastic diffuser is attached to the case with two screws 9. The rubber gasket 3 fits the case and is clamped between the diffuser and the case. At the bottom of the case there are two holes for ventilation of the pointer chamber. The heads of the screws 16 are cast in the housing.

Direction indicators UP-145 are divided into right and left (a letter is added to the pointer type designation «P» or «L»). The left pointers are shaped like a mirror image of the right ones.

Front door opening signal lamp

On the edges of the lower part of the front doors of VAZ-2103 cars, a lamp FP-146 is installed. It is fastened with two screws and is located in the door in a rubber boot.

The lantern has a steel body 1 with slots that allow you to insert and remove a cartridge with a plastic plug holder. A red plastic diffuser is sandwiched between the body and a 38 chrome steel frame riveted to the body. Between the diffuser and the body there is a rubber gasket 3. The lamp A12-5 is installed in the lantern.

Rear lights

Lanterns of the FP-140 type are installed on VAZ-2101 vehicles, the FP-142 type on the VAZ-2102, and the FP-145 type on the VAZ-2103. Lights are attached to the outer tailgate of the car below the trunk lid (at VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2103) or to the rear fenders on either side of the tailgate (at VAZ-2102). Under the lights are installed plastic gaskets.


All lamps are double chambered. In one chamber, a double-filament lamp A12-21 + 5 is installed for side light (filament 5W) and brake signal (thread 21 W), and in the other chamber a single-filament lamp A12-21-3 of the direction indicator.

Lantern FP-140 has a chrome-plated body 1, cast from zinc alloy, and two transparent plastic diffusers: orange 18 for the direction indicator and red 23 for the brake signal and position light. Along the edges of the case there are grooves, which include the protrusions of the diffusers. Moreover, the red diffuser has two protrusions, and the corresponding groove in the housing is provided with a partition, and the orange diffuser has one protrusion, but of a shorter length than two protrusions of the red diffuser. Therefore, a red diffuser cannot be put in place of an orange diffuser and vice versa. In the middle part, the diffusers are pressed against the housing by a chrome-plated metal partition 21, which is fastened to the housing with a screw 20. A rubber gasket 3 is installed between the diffusers and the housing. On the back side, plastic holders 25 with contacts and plugs and plastic insulating plates 24 covering them are riveted to the housing.

Lanterns FP-140 are divided into right and left (FP-140P and FP-140L). They differ in the surface of the body, mating with the rear panel of the car, and the location of the cameras. The turn signal camera is located on the outside of the vehicle. Lanterns are mounted on two studs 8, cast in the body.


Lanterns FP-142 of the VAZ-2102 car are distinguished by a vertical arrangement of cameras and a built-in reflector 32. The body 1 of the lamp is cast from a zinc alloy and chrome-plated or made of plastic and metallized. Holders of 25 contacts and plugs, 5 lamp holders are riveted to the body, and if the body is plastic, then also a metal jumper 30 connecting the lamp sockets.

Diffuser 2 lamps FP-142 - one-piece plastic two-color. A square plastic reflector is glued into a socket at the bottom of the diffuser. The diffuser is attached to the housing with screw 9 with a plastic nut 29 and screw 31. This screw simultaneously serves to fasten the lamp and is wrapped in a steel bracket, which is put on the bent upper edge of the socket for the lamp in the rear fender of the car. For the lower edge of the socket, the lantern is hooked by grooves 28 in the ribs of the body.

At the FP-145 lamp of the VAZ-2103 car, in the upper part there is a side light and brake signal camera, as well as a reflector. At the bottom of the housing is the turn signal camera. The body is cast zinc alloy and chrome plated. Just like the FP-142 flashlight, lamp holders and plastic holders 25 are riveted to the body. Diffuser 2 is a solid two-color plastic. A square plastic reflector is glued into the socket at the top of the diffuser. The diffuser is attached to the body with a plastic metallized strap 33 and two screws 9, which are screwed into the heads of the bolts 13 for attaching the lamp. Lanterns are divided into right and left (FP-145P and FP-145L). They differ in the location of the reflectors. At the right lantern, the reflector is located on the left, and the left - on the right.

Reflector

On VAZ-2101 vehicles, reflectors are not installed in the rear lights, as in the VAZ-2102 and VAZ-2103, but separately, under the rear lights. Type of reflectors - FP-312. Reflectors, unlike flashlights, do not have a lamp and are light-signal devices that reflect the light falling on them.

Reflector FP-312 consists of a plastic metallized body 1, a colorless plastic base 35 and a red plastic reflective element 34. The outer surface of the element is smooth, and on the inner there is a system of prisms that reflect light. The reflective element is welded to the base 35 by ultrasonic welding, and the head of the bolt 36 is cast in the base, with which the element with the base is attached to the body. The reflector is attached to the outer rear panel of the car with the same bolt.
