VAZ-2105 «Zhiguli»
VAZ-2105 is a Soviet car of small classification III group (B-segment according to the European classification), produced at the AvtoVAZ plant from 1979 to 2010. It has a rear-wheel drive with a front-mounted motor, a body type «sedan». Other vehicle names «Zhiguli», «Classic», Lada 2105, popularly called «five». On the basis of this car was later created «luxury» sedan VAZ-2107. Body type «station wagon» the model is called VAZ-2104. Over a 30-year production period, about 2.9 million cars were produced.
Model History
«Five» is the second generation «pennies», which has undergone major modernization. The manufacturing technology of the frame and body remained the same, but the appearance has completely changed, becoming more angular with square block headlights with a hydrocorrector and a headlamp cleaner. All rear lights are combined under a single cover. Replaced chrome elements with black, made of plastic.
Technical improvements have also been significant, which are mainly aimed at reducing the cost of conveyor assembly. The engine was the first to use a toothed timing belt instead of a chain. There was also a lot of new stuff in the cabin - blowing the windows of the side doors (these glasses were removed «window vents»), electrically heated rear window, adjustable exterior mirrors from the passenger compartment, leather-vinyl seat upholstery, height-adjustable front seat head restraints.
In 1983, the car received the USSR State Quality Mark. Before the advent VAZ-2108 the car was considered the most advanced in the USSR in terms of design. Until the end of its production, the demand for it was determined by the low price. After «Oki» it was the cheapest domestic car. The car recycling program introduced in Russia has spurred demand for «top five». However, after its completion, demand fell sharply.
Despite its popularity, the availability of spare parts in any town and maintainability in garage conditions stopped production in 2010. The car has not changed much in 30 years and is morally very outdated. The appearance has never changed at all, and only the necessary adjustments have been made to the interior to comply with Russian standards. In terms of passive safety, the car was very far from modern requirements. It was replaced by a front-wheel drive car Lada Granta.

- Lada-2105 - with a 1.3-liter VAZ-2105 carburetor engine with a capacity of 64 hp and 4-speed manual transmission;

- Lada-21051 - with a carburetor engine from VAZ-2101 and 4-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21053 - with a carburetor engine from VAZ-2103 and 4 or 5-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21053-20 - with an engine from the VAZ-2104 with fuel injection of 1.45 liters with a capacity of 71 hp and 5-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21054 - modification for the traffic police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB with a carburetor engine VAZ-2106, additional gas tank and battery.
- Lada-21054-30 - with an engine from the VAZ-21067 with fuel injection of 1.57 liters with a capacity of 82 hp and 5-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21055 - with VAZ diesel (BTM) -341 manufactured by Barnaultransmash with a volume of 1.52 liters and a capacity of 50 liters. s.;
- Lada-21057 (Lada Riva) - export version of the VAZ-21053 with a right-hand drive and a single-injection engine (Euro -1);
- Lada-21058 (Lada Riva) - export version of the VAZ-21050 with a right-hand drive;
- Lada-21059 is a small-scale modification for the traffic police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the KGB with a 1.3-liter Wankel VAZ-4132 rotary piston engine with a capacity of 140 hp;
- VIS-2345 is a semi-frame pickup truck based on VAZ-21053 and VAZ-21054.
VAZ-2104 «Zhiguli»
Soviet rear-wheel drive car, created on the basis of the VAZ-2105, but with a body type «station wagon». Produced at the car factory in Togliatti from 1984 to 2012. Replaced the outdated VAZ-2102, from which he borrowed the design of the rear of the body and suspension. A windshield wiper and heated glass were added to the tailgate. Salon is identical «five», with the exception of the rear seat, which folds up to increase boot volume from 375 to 1,340 liters.

- Lada-21045D - with a VAZ-341 diesel engine with a volume of 1.5 liters, with a 5-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21047 - right-hand drive modification with an engine from VAZ-2103 volume of 1.5 liters, carburetor, with a 5-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21048 - with a VAZ-343 diesel engine with a volume of 1.77 liters, with a 5-speed manual transmission;
- Lada-21041i - with an injection engine from VAZ-21067 volume of 1.6 liters, interior and electrical equipment from VAZ-2107;
- Lada-21041 VF - electrical equipment, radiator and interior design from VAZ-2107, injection engine from VAZ-2103 volume of 1.5 liters.
