The body frame consists of the following main elements: the front end of the body, the front fenders with reinforcements, the roof with windshield and rear window frames, the floor with reinforcements and the rear panel, sidewalls and rear fenders. Basically, the frame parts are interconnected by contact welding, and the parts operating under load (B-pillars, front spars), additionally welded by arc welding. Body parts are stamped from mild steel sheet of various thicknesses: for exterior panels 0.7 mm, for the front floor and roof 0.9 mm, for mudguards of the front fenders, floor crossbars, side members and rear wheel arches 1.0 mm, for heavily loaded parts 1.5 mm.
The main hinged parts of the body are the hood, doors, tailgate and bumpers. All these details (except bumpers) consist of inner and outer panels interconnected by rolling the edge of the outer panel with subsequent spot welding. Panel joints and welds are sealed with mastic.
Hood mounted on hinges bolted to the cross member of the body. Enlarged holes in the hood hinges provide adjustment of its position relative to the body.
doors with front hinges. The door hinges allow adjustment to ensure the uniformity of the gaps relative to the body. Outside rear-view mirrors are installed on the front doors.
All glass safety car. Windshield - three-layer, polished. Rear glass and door glass - polished, tempered (rear window with heating element). Glasses of lateral doors - lowering, with the mechanical drive. The fixed glazing is sealed with rubber seals.
tailgate held open by two gas springs. The tailgate hinges, as well as the hood hinges, have enlarged holes that provide adjustment of their position relative to the body.
Front and rear body mounted bumpers. Aluminum bumpers were installed on early production cars. Currently, cars are equipped with plastic bumpers with chrome lining. The bumper is attached to the body with two tubular brackets.
front seats - separate, equipped with headrests, adjustable for longitudinal position and backrest inclination. Backseat - triple, unregulated, folding.
Seats for the driver and all passengers are equipped with seat belts.
The body structure provides shock absorption in the event of an accident due to the deformation of the front or rear parts. The bottom of the body and wheel arches are covered from below with D-11A plastisol, 1-1.5 mm thick, for corrosion protection and sound insulation. The cavities of the body are treated with preservative type "Movil".
The metal frame of the instrument panel is covered with polyurethane foam, and on top with a PFM-0.9 film. The instrument panel is attached to the body from above with four nuts, and from below with four self-tapping screws.
