- move the lever to the lowest position;
- loosen locknut 26 (see fig. 192) tensioning device and, turning the adjusting nut 27, tighten the cable so that the lever stroke along the sector is 4-5 teeth under a force of 40 kgf;
- after several brakings, make sure that the stroke of the lever has not changed and the car is braked during this stroke.
If the cables are replaced with new ones, then 2 or 3 times braking is carried out, applying a force equal to approximately 40 kgf to the parking brake drive lever so that the cables are pulled out.
