Door sill replacement
1 - connector; 2 – threshold amplifier; 3 - outer threshold panel
The dotted line indicates the felling lines, the dots indicate the contact welding seams. The arrows show the places of gas welding.
Replace with the front and rear fenders removed.
Amplifier 2 should be replaced only in the presence of deformation or through corrosion.
1. With a thin chisel, cut down panel 3 of the threshold, remove the remaining strips of metal and clean the edges with a grinder.
2. Mark the new sill panel under the B-pillar, fit the panel in place and secure with hooks.
3. Weld the panel at the extreme points by gas welding, install the doors and check the installation of the panel. The protrusion and retraction of the threshold relative to the door should not be more than 3 mm.
4. Remove the doors and weld the threshold panel to the mating parts by resistance welding in 50–60 mm increments. Electric welding in a carbon dioxide environment with a current of 50–90 A or gas welding is allowed.
5. Weld the panel to the B-pillar by gas welding and clean the welds.
