Removing
1. We install the car on a viewing hole or overpass (see "Vehicle preparation for maintenance and repair").
2. Key by 10 mm unscrew the nut securing the pressure regulator drive rod to the rear axle bracket, holding the bolt with a wrench of the same size.
Having removed the bolt, we disconnect the lower end of the rod from the bracket to allow the rear axle to move.
3. Key by 10 mm unscrew the nut securing the brake pipe tee so that when the rear axle is shifted down, do not damage the brake hose. On a car with high mileage, we pre-treat this connection with a penetrating lubricant.
4. Remove the tee from the rear axle stud.
5. Disconnect the shock absorber from the rear axle bracket (see "Rear suspension shock absorber - replacement").
6. Hang the rear wheel from the side of the spring to be replaced (see "Wheel - replacement").
7. Remove the spring.
8. Remove the lower plastic spring gasket.
9. Remove the upper rubber spring pad from the body support cup.
10. We check the condition of both spring insulating gaskets and, if necessary, replace them with new ones.
Installation
1. Before installing the spring, we fasten the upper and lower gaskets on it with insulating tape, ensuring that the end turns coincide with the recesses in the gaskets.
2. When installing, we orient the spring so that the end of its lower coil rests through the plastic gasket against the flange of the support cup on the rear axle beam.
The remaining parts are installed in the reverse order of their removal.
Similarly, we replace the spring on the other side of the car.
