Hang the back of the car and remove the wheel.
Removing the brake drum (see Brake drum replacement).
We press the cup of the support post and, turning it 90°, remove it and the spring.
Remove the cup of the other block in the same way.
Using a large screwdriver, remove the lower parts of both brake pads from the support.
Remove the bottom tension spring.
We take the block to the side, freeing the spacer bar, and remove the bar.
Remove the top tension spring.
Disconnect the parking brake lever from the cable end.
Using pliers, we remove the cotter pin from the finger.
Remove the lever, washer and pin from the block.
Install new pads in the reverse order of removal.
Before installing the pads with new pads, we loosen the tension of the parking brake cable. We shift the pistons of the wheel cylinder inward with sliding pliers. After installing the brake drum, we sharply and strongly press the brake pedal so that the thrust rings in the wheel cylinder take their places.
