We set the camshaft to the position corresponding to the end of the compression stroke of the 4th cylinder (see Adjusting the gap between the levers and camshaft cams).
key «at 13» Loosen the cap nut on the chain tensioner. Resting the mounting blade against the tensioner shoe, we squeeze the tensioner rod and fix it by tightening the cap nut (Radiator hose removed for clarity).
We bend the edge of the lock washer of the camshaft sprocket bolt.
Turn on the gear and key «at 17» unscrew the sprocket bolt.
Remove bolt with washers.
We remove the sprocket together with the camshaft chain and put it in the block head. To prevent the chain from jumping, we tie it to an asterisk.
key «at 13» unscrew the nine nuts securing the camshaft bearing housing.
We remove the housing assembly with the camshaft from the studs.
key «on 10» unscrew the two bolts securing the thrust flange to the body...
...and remove the flange.
Remove the camshaft from the housing.
Raise the valve lever, release it from the spring. We remove the lever.
Remove the lever spring.
We install the camshaft in reverse order, while its key should be on the left side (when viewed from the front).
Tighten the bearing housing mounting nuts in the order shown in the figure.
