Removing
1. We install the car on a viewing hole or overpass (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. For ease of access to the upper nut of the generator, remove the battery (see "Battery - removal and installation").
3. 17 mm socket wrench with cardan and extension (wrench 13 mm for alternator 9412.3701) unscrew the nut securing the generator to the adjusting bar.
4. Remove the mudguard of the engine compartment (see "Mudguard - removal and installation").
5. Remove the belt from the alternator pulley (see "Alternator drive belt - tension adjustment and replacement").
6. Disconnect the wire block from the generator output.
7. Having shifted the protective cap, use a 10 mm key to unscrew the nut that secures the wire ends to the terminal connected to the positive terminal of the battery.
8. Using a 19 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nut securing the generator to the bracket on the cylinder block.
9. After removing the bolt, remove the generator. Be careful not to lose the buffer sleeve A in the cover lug.
Installation
1. Installation of the generator is carried out in the reverse order.
2. Adjust the belt tension (see "Alternator drive belt - tension adjustment and replacement").
