Vehicle identification numbers

Summary plate of factory data (pic. 1) mounted on the bottom shelf of the air intake box. It indicates the engine model, spare part number, year of manufacture, manufacture variant, and in the upper line in coded form data are given, which are decoded as follows: the first three letters indicate the geographical area, country and plant (X - Europe, T - USSR, A - Volga Automobile Plant); the next six digits are the car model; the next - a letter of the Latin alphabet, indicates the model year of the car (H - 1987, J - 1988, K - 1989, etc.); the last seven digits are the chassis number (for a passenger car corresponds to the body number).
