You will need an aerosol carburetor cleaner to get the job done.
Order of execution
1. We prepare the car for operations (see "Vehicle preparation for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the air filter housing (see "Air filter housing - removal and installation").
3. We clean the dirt with a rag and a brush and wash the outer surface of the carburetor with white spirit or engine cleaner.
4. Disconnect the choke cable from the carburetor cover and remove the fuel hose from the fitting (see "Carburetor - removal and installation").
5. Prying with a screwdriver, disconnect the telescopic rod from the three-arm lever.
6. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the five screws securing the cover to the carburetor body.
7. Remove the carburetor cover.
A sealing gasket is installed between the body and the carburetor cover. In the presence of kinks and gaps, replace the gasket.
8. To replace the gasket, the needle valve must be removed (see above, "Needle valve and float - replacement").
CommentYou can remove the starting device without removing the cover or carburetor from the car. To access the starter, just remove the air filter housing (see "Air filter housing - removal and installation").
9. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the starting device.
10. We remove the starting device, removing the thrust from its rod. Using tweezers, carefully remove the sealing ring from the groove of the vacuum supply channel.
11. We check the serviceability of the diaphragm of the starting device. Having sunk the stem, close the vacuum supply hole with your finger and release the stem. If the stem does not return to its original position, the diaphragm is working. Otherwise, the diaphragm must be replaced.
12. To replace the diaphragm with a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws that secure the starter cover to its body.
13. After removing the cover, take out the stem with the diaphragm.
14. Check the condition of the diaphragm, breaks and cracks are not allowed. Replace the diaphragm if necessary.
Installation
1. Before assembling and installing the cover, we wash all its parts with a carburetor cleaner.
2. With a rubber bulb, we select fuel from the float chamber of the carburetor body. We wash the inner surface of the carburetor body and chamber diffusers with a carburetor cleaner. Having turned out the fuel and air jets, as well as the accelerator pump sprayer (see below, "Carburetor body - disassembly"), blow through the channels of the body with compressed air.
3. Assembly of the cover and subsequent installation is carried out in reverse order.
