The work is shown on the example of a carburetor engine.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for operations (see "Vehicle preparation for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the ignition distributor (see "Ignition distributor - removal and installation").
3. We install a pointed wooden stick with an interference fit into the slotted hole of the oil pump drive gear and remove the gear from the cylinder block.
Installation
1. Install all removed parts in reverse order.
2. On a carburetor engine, we check and, if necessary, adjust the ignition timing (see "Ignition timing - check and adjustment").
