Notes:
- Wash in gasoline and blow out the parts of the fuel pump with compressed air.
- The tightness of the valves is checked on the assembled pump. To check, shake the fuel pump with a lever, alternately closing the suction and discharge pipes with your finger. There should be a vacuum in the suction pipe, and pressure in the discharge pipe.
1. Inspect the upper and lower pump housings. Replace parts with cracks and chips.
2. If the suction and discharge pipes are loose in the pump housing, replace the housing.
3. Replace torn, worn, or hardened diaphragms.
6. Assemble the fuel pump in the reverse order of removal.
4. Replace torn or damaged strainer.
5. Leaky valves must be replaced with their seats.
