1. Remove the gearshift lever cover from the floor tunnel lining.
2. Remove the floor tunnel lining.
3. Loosen the screw securing the floor tunnel lining at the rear.
4. Remove the floor tunnel lining by sliding it back.
5. Remove the nut that secures the arm axle, and then the five bolts that secure the arm base to the floor.
6. Remove the lever with the base, while removing the rubber protective boot from the base.
7. Take out an axis of the lever with two plastic plugs. If the axle dangles freely in the bushings installed in the lever, then the bushings are worn out and must be replaced. Lubricate bushings with grease when installing.
8. To replace the plastic lever mount, remove it from the spherical lever pin, put grease into the bore of the new mount, and slide the mount onto the pin.
9. To replace the leather boot, remove the handle by pulling it off the lever.
10. Install the shift lever in reverse order. Tighten all threaded connections with a torque of 16-26 Nm (1.6-2.6 kgf·m).
A bent gearshift linkage must be replaced or straightened.
11. To replace the gearshift drive rod from the bottom of the car, loosen the clamp and disconnect the rod from the hinge tip.
12. Turn away a nut of fastening of an axis of the lever of a gear change and take out draft in salon.
