To fasten the seat belt, pull it out of the spool and insert the tongue 1 (pic. 8) lock 2 until it clicks, without twisting the straps. To unfasten the belt, press button 3 of the lock.
The front seat belts are height adjustable. To prevent the belt from touching the neck or pressing on the shoulder, use lever 4 to adjust the height of the attachment of the upper point, and to increase the height, it is enough to press up the decorative trim of the belt.
Rear passengers fasten their seat belts in the same way. For the middle passenger, only the lap belt is provided.
Warning! Be sure to wear your seat belt when driving and do not transport passengers who are not wearing a seat belt.
If the straps are dirty, clean them with a mild soap solution. It is not allowed to iron the tapes with an iron. The belt must be replaced with a new one if it has been subjected to a critical load in a traffic accident or has abrasions, breaks and other damage.
In a variant version, the cars are equipped with an airbag system. The airbag is an additional means of protection for the driver wearing a seat belt and is activated in the event of a severe frontal collision of the vehicle. When deployed, the airbag fills with gas in a very short period of time and forms a ball, thereby significantly reducing the risk of injury to the driver's upper body and head. The presence of an airbag is marked with the inscription «AIRBAG» on the steering wheel.
Airbag system (SNPB) includes:
- a driver airbag module with a gas generator located in the steering wheel;
- a rotating device mounted on the steering column switch connector;
- SNPB control and diagnostic unit installed on the body floor tunnel under the instrument panel console;
- SNPB diagnostic signaling device in the instrument cluster.
SNPB is triggered by a frontal impact:
- starting with a certain severity of the accident;
- in the coverage area shown in Fig. 9.
Examples of situations with triggering of the SNAP:
- collision with a fixed non-deformable obstacle: the airbag is activated at a low speed of movement;
- collision with a moving deformable obstacle (e.g. with another car): The airbag only deploys when the vehicle is moving at a higher speed;
- in the case of a sufficient impact on the car in front, some examples are shown in fig. 10.
SNPB does not work when:
- off ignition;
- frontal collisions at low speed;
- overturning;
- side and rear collisions, i.e. where it cannot improve driver safety.
There is little or no risk of reduced visibility for the driver as the airbag inflates and deflates at high speed.
The airbag provides optimum protection when the seat, backrest and head restraint are correctly positioned. The entire back should be supported by the back of the seat, and the seat should be pushed back as far as practicable so that in an upright sitting position, arms slightly bent at the elbows can hold the steering wheel. Failure to do so may cause the driver to be thrown backwards when the air bag inflates, resulting in serious injury or death. The airbag needs space when inflated.
The airbag is a self-contained disposable device and does not require maintenance while the vehicle is in operation. After the airbag is triggered, the control unit and the driver's airbag module must be replaced at the enterprises of the service and sales network (PSSS). Replace critically loaded seat belts at the same time.
Warning! 1. The airbag does not replace the seat belt, it only complements it, so always wear your seat belts. If you do not use seat belts, you risk being seriously injured or even thrown out of the vehicle at the time of the accident, and the possibility of death cannot be ruled out. The seat belt helps you to assume the safest sitting position in the event of an accident, in which the airbag can provide the most effective protection.
2. Never attach any objects to the steering wheel as they may cause injury when the airbag inflates. The same danger exists when the driver smokes a pipe or uses a mobile phone while driving.
3. When driving, do not place your forearms/hands on the steering wheel in which the airbag is mounted.
4. The SNPB diagnostic signaling device should turn on 6 times within 5.5 s after the ignition is turned on and turn off. The subsequent activation of the diagnostic signaling device during the operation of the vehicle means that a malfunction has been detected in the airbag and its operation in the event of a frontal collision is not guaranteed.
5. Unauthorized intervention in the SNPB is prohibited. All work on it should be carried out only on the SSSS by specially trained personnel.
6. The gas that fills the airbag when it is inflated is hot. Under some circumstances, the hot gas escaping from the pillow when it is emptied can cause minor burns to the hands.
7. When the airbag is deployed, it produces smoke as a result of a chemical reaction when it is inflated. Skin surfaces showing signs of irritation should be washed thoroughly with mild soap and water. If eyes are irritated, rinse thoroughly with clean water for at least 20 minutes. If you are worried for a long time, you should consult a doctor.
