But the main thing is that the power drops in both cases, as well as the engine service life decreases, fuel consumption and the amount of harmful impurities in the exhaust gases increase, and the heater performance deteriorates. The cooling system is classic closed type, with forced cooling of the coolant. It consists of a water pump, a radiator, a thermostat, an expansion tank and an engine temperature sensor, it is also a sensor for turning on the fan, radiator fan and coolant.

Radiators on «dozens» larger in size, the mount is different than on «nines», and there is no fan switch on sensor; as already mentioned, its inclusion is monitored by an on-board computer, which turns on the fan at an engine temperature of 105°C, and turns it off at a temperature of 102°C. The temperature is above the boiling point of the coolant. It does not boil because closed-type systems are not connected with the atmosphere. Therefore, you need to monitor the cap of the expansion tank. It should securely close the cooling system.

Thermostat of another generation
One of the important elements in the cooling system is the thermostat. It is he who directs the coolant to the radiator when the engine temperature reaches 85°C.
The thermostat with the index 2110 outwardly resembles the thermostat 2101 more, since it does not have an additional thin air pipe. Air enters the system from a tee, which is located next to the thermostat. This thermostat is shown on the colored label.
The internal structure of the model has been slightly modified. A device is provided that allows the liquid to wash the thermal force element from several sides. There is no such device on 2108, so the thermostat starts to open the valve with a slight delay. Thermostat 2110 is installed on carbureted engines 2110 and 2111.
Thermostat 21082 is a thermostat of another generation. It is both externally and internally different from the 2110. The main difference is that it forces the coolant to flow more intensively through the heater core and the efficiency of this heater increases. This thermostat is installed on 2111 and 2112 engines with fuel injection system. This thermostat is shown on the colored label.

Any liquid can be used as a coolant. Tap water has a freezing point of 0°C, which is a very high temperature for a coolant, and a boiling point of 100°C, which is a very low temperature; but the heat capacity, i.e. heat transfer, water has higher than antifreeze. According to this indicator, tap water is a very good coolant. But water is very hard. Contains calcium and magnesium salts, which cause scale and precipitation, and they disable the system. The content of chlorine, which exposes the elements of the system to corrosion, causes great harm to the system. Therefore, practically this water cannot be used in the cooling system. The next liquid is spring or well water. It also has a very high rigidity. River or lake water has medium hardness.
The least hard water is rain or snow. Distilled water and water obtained after melting ice in the refrigerator have low hardness, so it is better to use them to get there when there is no special coolant.
Currently, the highest quality coolants are antifreezes and antifreezes.
Antifreeze and antifreeze are ethylene glycol fluids with the addition of various additives that improve the performance properties of these fluids. The main indicator that we can check is the density. It should be in the range of 1.065-1.085. Using any density meter, you can immediately determine whether you are being deceived or not. Although such an indicator as the crystallization temperature should not be higher than -40°C, and the initial boiling point is not less than 100°C; Of course, this matters, especially in winter.
