Removing
1. Remove the crankshaft pulley and its key (see "Crankshaft toothed pulley - removal, installation, replacement").
2. Remove the engine oil pan (see "Engine oil pan - removal").
3. Remove the oil receiver (see "Oil receiver - removal").
4. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the six bolts securing the oil pump to the cylinder block.
5. Remove the oil pump from the engine.
Note. The connection between the oil pump and the cylinder block is sealed with a gasket.
Helpful advice. In many cases, it is advisable not to repair a faulty oil pump, but to replace it as an assembly.
Disassembly
1. With a 5 mm hex wrench, unscrew the six bolts securing the oil pump housing to the cover.
2. Remove the oil pump housing.
3. Remove the drive gear from the oil pump cover.
Recommendation. Stopper reduction (safety) valve is over tightened. When it is unscrewed, it is possible to accidentally damage the oil pump cover, and also on the plug itself, as a rule, turnkey edges are crushed. Therefore, the pressure reducing valve should not be disassembled to flush the cover.
4. Remove the driven gear from the oil pump housing.
5. We wash the parts of the oil pump with diesel fuel or kerosene, wipe dry.
Note. The diameter of the seat of the driven gear in the oil pump housing must not exceed 75.10 mm. The minimum thickness of the dividing wall between the driving and driven gears is 3.4 mm. The axial play of the drive gear should not be more than 0.12 mm, and the driven gear - 0.15 mm.
Assembly
Helpful advice. On the removed oil pump, if necessary, you can replace the front crankshaft oil seal installed in the cover (see "Front crankshaft oil seal - replacement").
Lubricate the gears with clean engine oil.
Assemble the oil pump in reverse order. At the same time, we orient the driven gear in the oil pump in such a way that the side with the mark and chamfers on the teeth faces the housing.
We orient the drive gear along the chamfered teeth in the same way.
Installation
We install the oil pump and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal, replacing the gasket between the oil pump and the cylinder block with a new one.
