Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (see paragraphs 2b and 4 "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the engine protection (see "Engine protection - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the vacuum brake booster hose from the intake module (see point 8 "Engine intake module 21124 (1,6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
4. Remove the oxygen concentration sensor from the manifold (see "Oxygen concentration sensor - check and replacement").
5. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nut of the upper...
... and two nuts for the lower mounting of the protective screen.
6. Remove the protective screen from the engine compartment.
7. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the bracket clamping bar.
8. Remove the clamping bar from the studs.
9. Using a 13 mm spanner, unscrew the two bolts securing the bracket clamping plate to the cylinder block.
10. Remove the bracket from the engine compartment down.
Warning. 11. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the additional muffler (see points 1 and 2 "Silencer intake pipe sealing ring - replacement").
12. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the lower and then the upper nuts of the coolant pump inlet pipe bracket a few turns and move the bracket aside (The photo shows a view from the side of the partition of the engine compartment).
13. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the eight nuts securing the exhaust manifold of the muffler and catalyst (three of them are not visible in the photo).
14. We remove the catalyst assembly from the car with the exhaust pipe of the muffler.
15. Remove the muffler exhaust manifold seal from the cylinder head studs.
16. Disconnect the exhaust pipe of the muffler from the catalyst (see "Receiving pipe of the VAZ 2112 engine (1,5i) - removal, installation, replacement").
Installation
We install the catalyst and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal. We replace the gasket and damaged parts.
