Note. Work on checking and replacing nozzles is shown on VAZ 2110 cars with an injection engine 21124 (1,6i). Features of checking and replacing engine injectors 2112 (1,5i) indicated in the text.
Warning. Before performing repair work on replacing injectors, read the precautions for repairing the engine management system (see "Precautions when repairing the engine management system").
To perform an injector test, you will need:
- multimeter (in voltmeter and ohmmeter mode);
- the wire (1.5-2 m);
- insulating tape.
Examination
1. We prepare the car for work (see item 2b "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair"), turn off the ignition.
2. Remove the engine trim (see "Decorative overlay of the engine - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the connectors (1 and 2) injector wiring harness.
4. Turning on the ignition, use a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the supply terminal E connectors (1) wiring harness, which must be at least 12 V (pins are marked with letters on the connector, «negative» The instrument probe must be connected to «mass» engine).
Warning. Turn off the ignition after the voltage measurement is completed.
Note. If the voltage is not supplied to the connector or it is less than 12 V, then the battery is discharged, the power circuit is faulty, or the computer is faulty.
5. We check the electrical resistance of the injectors, for which we measure the resistance between terminal E and the remaining four terminals with an ohmmeter (2). The connector terminal marked with the letter B corresponds to the injector of the first cylinder, and the terminals C, G and F correspond to the injectors of the second, third and fourth cylinders, respectively. For serviceable injectors, the resistance should be -13 ohms.
6. Using two wires directly from the battery, we supply connectors to the terminals (2) voltage 12 V - we connect terminal E to the positive terminal of the battery, and terminals B, C, G and F are in series with the negative terminal of the battery. With a working nozzle, a characteristic click should be heard when the valve is opened.
7. Defective injectors must be replaced.
Removing
8. Removing the nozzle on a car with a VAZ 2112 engine (l,5i).
A) Removing the fuel rail (see "Fuel rail engine 2112 (1,5i) - removal, disassembly, assembly and installation").
b) We remove the nozzle (see p. 14, 16-18, "Fuel rail engine 2112 (1,5i) - removal, disassembly, assembly and installation").
Removing the nozzle on a car with a VAZ 21124 engine (l,6i).
A) Removing the intake module (see "Engine intake module 21124 (1,6i) - removal, installation, replacement").
b) Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the injectors (The photo is from the side of the radiator).
V) Remove the fuel rail assembly with injectors (see "Fuel rail engine 2112 (1,5i) - removal, disassembly, assembly and installation").
G) Remove the injector retainer from the fuel rail.
d) We take out the nozzle from the ramp.
e) Remove the remaining three injectors in the same way.
Installation
We install the nozzles and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal.
