Transmission — Checking the Oil Level

We check the oil level in the gearbox during vehicle maintenance, as well as before each trip if oil leaks from the gearbox.

The test is carried out with the engine off.

Execution sequence

1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the oil level indicator (index probe) from the hole in the gearbox housing.



3. We wipe the pointer rod from oil and put it back in place until it stops, and then remove it.

The oil level in the gearbox must be between the marks "MIN" And "MAX", printed on the pointer rod, otherwise we bring the level to normal. The type of oil used, see table. 16.4.



4. Install the level indicator in place.
