Advice. It is better to change the oil immediately after the trip, while it is hot. So it merges faster and more completely with suspended particles.
Warning! The temperature of the heated oil can reach 90°C. Be careful.
To complete the work you will need:
- viewing hole or flyover;
- wide capacity of at least 4 liters;
- funnel or special syringe.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
Comment. The drain plug can be accessed through a hole in the engine mudguard. It should be noted that at the initial moment of draining the oil, the jet will hit the upper surface of the engine mudguard and spread over it. To avoid spilling oil, you can bend the edge of the mudguard up (opposite the drain hole) or remove the mudguard from the car.
2. We install a container under the drain hole of the gearbox housing.
3. Ring wrench by 17 mm unscrew the drain plug.
4. Drain the oil.
5. After waiting for the oil to completely drain from the box, we wrap the plug in place.
Advice. If the oil drained from the gearbox is dark in color and metal particles are visible in it, the gearbox should be flushed. To do this, pour 1-1.5 liters of special flushing oil into the crankcase of the box. With one of the drive wheels out of the way, start the engine and engage first gear. After 5-7 minutes, turn off the engine, drain the flushing oil and fill in clean transmission oil.
6. Remove the oil level indicator (see "Gearbox - oil level check").
7. We wipe the pointer, removing oil from it.
8. Through the pointer hole with a syringe...
... or through a funnel with a tube put on it, pour 3.3 liters of gear oil into the gearbox. The type of oil used, see table. 16.4.
The oil level in the box is controlled by the pointer.
9. Install the oil level indicator in place.
