Rear brake mechanism

Rear brake drum type. When you press the brake pedal, the fluid from the master brake cylinder flows into the working brake cylinders. Under the pressure of the brake fluid, the pistons of the working brake cylinders come out of them and press the brake pads against the working surface of the brake drum. After releasing the brake pedal, under the influence of the coupling springs, the brake shoes sink the pistons into the cylinder and move away from the brake drum. In the rear working brake cylinders, a device for automatically adjusting the gap between the brake shoes and the drum is installed, which limits the sinking of the pistons into the cylinder. Due to this, an optimal clearance between the shoes and the drum is maintained.



Rear brakes (except for the working cylinder) are also part of the parking brake system.
