Tip: When adjusting the angle of the longitudinal inclination of the axis of rotation in the service center, the longitudinal extension will be removed again, so it is better to replace the extension in the same place, simultaneously with the adjustment.
To complete the work, you will need a viewing hole or overpass.
Removing
Tip: To minimize caster misalignment when installing an old caster brace, count and record the number of shims located at the rear and front ends of the brace.
1. Remove the extension bracket (see "Stretch mount bracket - removal and installation").
2. Holding the stretch from turning with an open-end wrench by 24 mm, with a second wrench of the same size with a long knob, unscrew the nut securing the front end of the longitudinal extension to the transverse lever.
3. We remove the thrust washer from the brace, remove the rear end of the brace from the rubber-metal hinge of the transverse lever and remove the adjusting washers from the brace.
Installation
We install the longitudinal stretching in the reverse order.
Warning! When installing the adjusting washer, it is necessary that the chamfer on its inner edge faces the extension.
Recommendation: After replacing the longitudinal brace, have the front wheel alignment checked by a workshop.
