To perform the work, you will need a wide container with a volume of at least 8 liters.
It is more convenient to perform work on a viewing hole or overpass.
Warning! Mixing antifreezes of different brands is not allowed.
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the engine mudguard (see "Mudguard of the engine - removal and installation")
3. We substitute a container with a volume of at least 8 liters under the drain hole of the radiator.
Tip: To reduce splashing of the coolant when it is drained, do not remove the expansion tank cap before performing the following operation.
4. Unscrew the drain plug of the radiator and drain the liquid into a container.
5. Having rearranged the container under the cylinder block, with a socket wrench by 13 mm unscrew the drain plug of the cylinder block and drain the remaining liquid in it.
6. After the liquid stops flowing out of the cylinder block, we wrap both plugs in place.
7. Turn off and remove the plug of the expansion tank.
8. Pour new coolant into the expansion tank.
Tip: Use a coolant with a freezing point 10-15°C below the average winter temperature in the region where the vehicle will be operated.
9. Fill the liquid up to the top mark of the expansion tank. We start the engine and let it run at high speed until the electric fan turns on. When the level in the tank drops, add fluid.
