Tip: It is recommended to remove the tank after the maximum amount of fuel has been produced from it.
To complete the work you will need:
- viewing hole or flyover;
- height-adjustable stand.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Relieve pressure in the fuel line (see "Fuel Line - Pressure Relief"). We do not connect the wiring block to the fuel module.
3. Disconnect the fuel line fittings from the fuel filter (see "Fuel filter - replacement").
Tip: To keep dirt out of the fuel line, wrap the ends of the fuel lines with masking tape or duct tape.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosening the tightening of the clamps, disconnect the filler pipe hose from the fuel tank (1) and gravity valve hose (2).
5. Through the filler pipe of the tank, we pump the maximum amount of fuel into the canister.
6. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the fastening of the plastic air outlet hose from the tank and disconnect the plastic hose from the fuel tank.
Tip: To prevent debris from entering the fuel tank, plug its nozzles with rags.
7. Install a stand under the tank.
8. socket wrench by 13 mm unscrew the bolts of the two clamps securing the fuel tank.
9. Remove the fuel tank.
Installation
Install the tank in reverse order.
