Fuel filter replacement

The replacement of the fine fuel filter is regulated - every 30,000 km. However, its condition depends on the quality of gasoline: the dirtier the gasoline, the faster the filter becomes clogged. Jerks when the car is moving, first at high and then at low speeds, most likely indicate a clogged filter.

You will need keys «on 10», «at 17» and «at 19».

1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «–» battery.

2. Reduce the pressure in the supply system (see «Reducing the pressure in the power system» in subsection «Supply system»).

3. Loosen the nuts securing the hose ends to the fuel filter.



4. Turn out a coupling bolt of a collar of fastening of the filter.



5. Completely unscrew the nuts of the hose tips and disconnect the hose tips from the filter. Be aware that a small amount of fuel will come out of the filter and hoses.



6. Remove the fuel filter.



7. Remove the O-rings from the hose ends. Check their condition. Replace loose and torn rings.



8. Install the new filter in the reverse order of removal. The arrow on the fuel filter housing must point in the direction of fuel flow.
