Removal and installation of cardan transmission

Position the vehicle on a lift or pit, ensuring that the front and rear wheels turn freely on one or both sides of the vehicle.

Park the vehicle securely, release the parking brake, and place the shift lever in neutral. Remove the front and rear driveshafts.

Install clamp A.70025 on the flexible coupling 3 of the intermediate shaft (see fig. 3-14) and, turning the shaft, unscrew the nuts of the bolts of the flexible coupling to the flange of the secondary shaft of the gearbox and the nuts of the bolts of the bolts of the intermediate shaft fork to the flange of the transfer case input shaft. Remove intermediate shaft.

Installation of cardan shafts is carried out in the reverse order of removal. When installing the intermediate cardan shaft, ensure the alignment of the shafts of the gearbox and transfer case (see «Transfer box installation»). Before installing the intermediate shaft, put 7-8 g of LSTs-15 or Litol-24 grease on the surface of the flange centering sleeve.
