The fuel injection system, in combination with a catalytic converter in the exhaust system, reduces the toxicity of exhaust gases while improving the vehicle's driving characteristics.
Removal and installation of the engine
Before removing the engine, it is necessary to remove the pressure in the fuel supply system. To do this, disconnect the fuel pump wiring harness connector from the injection system wiring harness, start the engine, let it run until it stops, and then turn on the starter for 3 seconds to equalize the pressure in the pipelines.
Disconnect the wire from the outlet «minus» battery.
Remove the air filter by unscrewing the nuts securing it to the central injection unit and to the stud on the cylinder head cover and disconnecting the hoses from the filter. Disconnect the wires from the injector and close the neck of the central injection unit with a technological plug.
Disconnect the fuel supply and drain hoses from the tubes on the engine. Close the openings of the tubes and hoses so that dirt does not get into them and fuel does not leak.
Disconnect the throttle cable from the central injection unit and from the bracket on the intake pipe.
Disconnect from the central injection unit the vacuum hoses going to the adsorber and the absolute pressure sensor, as well as the hose of the crankcase ventilation system.
Disconnect wires from all devices of system of injection established on the engine.
Further removal of the engine is carried out in the usual manner.
The engine is installed in the reverse order of removal. After installation, adjust the accelerator actuator and check the operation of the injection system as indicated in the Central Fuel Injection Repair Manual.
Engine disassembly and assembly
Remove bracket 3 (pic. 9-1) with ignition module 4, and then plug 2 with gasket and retainer 1 with o-ring.
Remove the fuel supply and drain pipes by disconnecting them from the central injection unit and from the bracket on the cylinder head cover.
Remove the central injection unit by unscrewing the mounting studs and remove the gasket from the intake pipe surface.
Remove intake pipe 2 (pic. 9-2) with heater 1. If necessary, on a workbench, disconnect the heater with gasket and O-ring from the inlet pipe.
Remove the crankshaft position sensor mounted on the camshaft drive cover.
Further disassembly of the engine is carried out in the usual manner, as indicated in section 2.
The engine is assembled in the reverse order of disassembly. A single-use gasket is installed under the central injection unit, so always replace it with a new one when reassembling.
