Most circuits are turned on by the ignition switch. Always energized (regardless of the position of the key in the ignition switch) power supply circuits for the stoplight horn, cigarette lighter, interior dome light, socket for a portable lamp, as well as power supply circuits for the alarm, position light, license plate lights and high beam signaling.
Most of the vehicle's electrical power circuits are protected by fuses located in the fuse box under the instrument panel on the left side of the steering column. The fog light is protected by a separate fuse (for 8 A), located in the wire near the fog light switch. The battery charge circuit, the ignition and engine start circuits, the relay for switching on the high and low beams of the headlights are not protected by fuses.
There are ten fuses in the block (seven at 8 A and three at 16 A - 1st, 9th and 10th). Their numbers are indicated on the plastic cover of the block. In addition to fuses, in the electrical system there are also reusable thermal bimetallic fuses in the windshield and rear window cleaners, as well as headlight glasses.
Before replacing a blown fuse, the cause of the blown fuse must be determined and corrected. It is not allowed to use fuses that are not provided for by the design of the car. When looking for a malfunction, it is recommended to view the ones indicated in Table. 18 circuits that this fuse protects.
When repairing a car and an electrical system, it is imperative to disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
