Disconnect the wire from the terminal "–" battery.
Capacitor failure (or disruption of his contact with "weight") determined by the increase in radio interference when the engine is running.
The health of the capacitor can be checked with a megohmmeter with a measurement limit of 1-10 MΩ. If the capacitor is in good condition, the arrow of the device should first deviate in the direction of decreasing resistance, and then gradually return back.
1. Remove the protective cap from the terminal "30" generator.
2. Loosen the wire nut and...
3....remove the wire lugs from the terminal "30".
4. Loosen the second output nut "30" And...
5.... remove the flat washer and the tip of the capacitor wire from it.
6. Unscrew the screw securing the capacitor to the generator cover from the side of the slip rings and remove the capacitor.
7. Remove from output "30" insulating sleeve and check its condition. Replace the bushing with cracks and burnouts. Install the new capacitor in the reverse order of removal.
