- brake fluid
- clean rag (rag)
Warning! When the level of brake fluid in the reservoir drops, the control lamp in the instrument cluster lights up red, signaling an emergency state of the working brake system. It is recommended to check the level before each ride and, if necessary, add fluid to the reservoir without waiting for the control lamp to light up. If the brake fluid in the reservoir has to be added quite often, this indicates a leak in the hydraulic drive. Contact a specialist immediately or fix the problem yourself.
Attention! Use only those brake fluids recommended by the manufacturer (see Attachment).
Attention! Please note that when installing the tank cap with a float, the liquid level in the tank rises slightly due to the volume of the float.
Attention! Take precautions when handling brake fluid: it is toxic. Contact with brake fluid on wires, plastic or painted parts of the body can cause damage. Therefore, always place clean rags when pouring. If liquid comes into contact with these parts, wipe them off immediately with a clean cloth.
Attention! Do not reuse the fluid drained from the system: it is contaminated, saturated with air and moisture. Always add only new fluid of the brand that was previously filled into the system.
Attention! Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the surrounding air), so it can not be stored in an open container.
The reservoir of the hydraulic drive of the brakes is located in the engine compartment and is fixed with a bracket to the upper support of the rack (spare wheel removed for clarity).
1. Remove the spare wheel (see subsection 2.10., operations 1–4). Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. It should reach the lower edge of the filler neck.
2. At a low level, unscrew the tank cap, holding the sensor housing with your hand, and...
3.... remove the cover assembly with the brake fluid level sensor.
4. Add brake fluid to a level of 4-5 mm from the lower edge of the filler neck of the reservoir (label "MAX"). Close the tank lid.
5. Clean up any spilled brake fluid from the reservoir and cap.
6. Check the operation of the brake fluid level sensor installed in the reservoir cap. To do this, turn on the ignition, then press the button on the reservoir lid.
7. The low brake fluid warning light should come on in the instrument cluster. If the lamp does not light up, contact a specialist - the sensor is most likely defective.
