- key "on 10"
- two screwdrivers
Disconnect the wire from the terminal "–" battery.
Drain the oil from the engine crankcase.
Remove the camshaft drive belt (see subsection 10.3.2.).
Remove the oil pan and oil receiver (see subsection 10.8.1.).
For clarity, the operations are shown on the removed engine.
1. Using two screwdrivers, remove the pulley from the crankshaft (to make it easier to remove the pulley, apply liquid like WD-40 to the place of its seat) and clean the crankshaft sprocket of oil and dirt.
2. If the key is loose in the crankshaft groove, remove it so as not to lose it.
3. Remove the six bolts securing the oil pump to the cylinder block. Please note: there are flat washers under the bolts.
4. Using a screwdriver, separate the oil pump from the cylinder block and...
5.... remove the pump from the front end of the crankshaft. Remove the gasket.
6. Remove old grease and dirt from the pump mating surface of the cylinder block and, by lubricating the gasket with a thin layer of grease (to keep her on the block), install the gasket on the block.
7. Pour 10–20 g of engine oil into the pump through the oil receiver hole.
8. Rotate the pump gears a few turns to lubricate their running surfaces. Gears should turn easily, without jamming.
9. Rotate the oil pump drive gear to properly fit on the crankshaft: the lugs on the drive gear should line up with the flats on the crankshaft.
10. Lubricate the seal lip with engine oil and reinstall the oil pump. At the same time, carefully fill the working edge of the oil seal on the crankshaft journal with a wooden stick. Then tighten the pump mounting bolts.
11. If the key was removed, install it in the groove of the crankshaft.
12. Install the pulley on the crankshaft with the mark facing out and...
13....press it onto the shaft using a soft metal mandrel. Then install the rest of the parts in the reverse order of removal. Adjust the tension of the camshaft drive belt.
